MP-33 Masterpiece Inferno

Inferno, the bot that really cares.

Inferno, isn't the normal vehicle bots; this is the bot that actually rescues people, not to say Autobots too. He's not really my favorite character or had he made quite the many appearances in G1 show. But nonetheless he's quite a recognizable character in the G1 toy line.

The only sad part is that the pipe near the ladder was broken when it was brought. Do check the figure before carrying it off the shop.

Transformation

Easy and pleasing. One can make it through with the help of the instruction book. I had a broken pipe, but was not due to the transformation, it was already broken when I got it brand new.

I had a broken piece, but it's not because it's due to transformation, but it is
broken when I brought it.
What's amazing on this figure is the fact the whole ladder is hidden after the transformation. The whole latter can be folded and hid into the robot's torso. Unlike Ironhide who is quite hollow, Inferno is one robot that is very sturdy and solid.

The most unique and incredible design for this figure is the ladder.
From behind, the ladder is totally hidden inside !
It really worth mentioning that the tyre's mudflap was even considered.
The knee's big cylinder is adjustable as well.

Articulation

The robot mode has some minor concerns to the articulation. Firstly is the waist which can be twisted but is limited due to the leg. The leg too has limited pose as the knee can only bend to 80 degrees.

As for the truck, the ladder was added with a hide-able pipe. The ladder can be extended, however it couldn't be twisted sideways(maybe the real fire-truck can't either). Another nice touch is that the side of the trucks has piston like hydraulic that pushes the figure up so that 8 tires behind are lifted up.

 Features

It doesn't come with many extra add ons, but each add on are a big piece.

Gun - Too bad he has only 1 gun, but there are 2(silver and grey) pump hose to put into the right hand.
Only the right hand is interchangeable between a hose or fist.
Vehicle Head - There are 3 vehicle heads included. Not included in the picture below as the last was used only to carry specific car robots, e.g. Lambor.
With silver painted front hood.

Cartoon like headlamps.
Hand Monitor - There are 2 screens attachable on both hands, but sadly it's blank and doesn't even have a sticker. It does looks dull.

Faces and Helmet - A total of 4 expression and 2 helmets. The reason for 2 helmets are due to the cartoon series which couldn't decide which is the one to use. :D

Pipe - There is a pipe that is included, but it doesn't do much besides wrapping inferno up. Yes, it's just to replicate an episode where his pipe turns evil and wrap inferno up. This pipe doesn't fit anywhere, so don't bother looking for a hole to push it in.

 All in All

Noticeably he's not really a well known character, but this figure is indeed a masterpiece to be loved. The red color is just a good match to lambor (but not to optimus). I just love the transformation of this figure. The broken piece did not bother me much at all.
